I know many readers may work for or be interested in starting their own small business. Well if you are located in Melbourne, the City of Melbourne has release its Small Business Grants. The grants can provide small business (under 20 employees) upto $25,000 to assist with innovation, development, new hardware and so much more. Australian Packaging Innovation on Display at PIDA Awards

The annual Packaging Innovation & Design Awards concluded recently with highlights of innovations in design, materials and end of life solutions in Australian Packaging. The awards are hosted by the Australian Institute of Packaging and cover several categories: food, beverage, health, beauty and wellness, domestic and household, labeling and decoration, Out of the Box pack design, marketing, accessibility and inclusivity, save food and sustainability. The best part about the 2024 awards was large volume of submissions and finalists in the sustainability category. Watching this over many years has seen the submissions grow exponentially, seeing how businesses are changing and making better pack designs and business decisions for the future. Improving the Humble Water Tank

Simplicity is best and Vaast has applied this thinking to the simple water tank. A key part of any adventure, outdoor or remote setup Vaast’s design not only improves on the original container but has additional well considered features improving usability. Features include a duel cap system to enable filling with liquid when loaded on racks, the sophisticated cap design for pouring with integrated hose connector and pouring breather. The design aesthetic is befitting to this highly functional water tank with a slimline footprint that has a central hole that can be used for strapping as well as a hand hold when carrying. NWM Unique Open-Ear Headphones Invite the World In

NVM have developed and launched open backed headphones that allow high fidelity sound whilst enabling users to hear the outside world. Their headphones deploy a new technology called Personalised Sound Zone (PSZ) that cancels out unwanted ambient sounds and minimise sound leakage. This technology is opening up the headphone market and allowing both interesting designs partnered with improved listening experience in a new generation of listening products.

Blvck Paris has adapted the classic card game UNO. Their adapted deck coats the cards is a matte black, subdued design that replaces the loud colours of the traditional deck. This new minimal version is at home with adults who want to draw a different experience to the traditional UNO deck.
