Well readers it is two days to Christmas!
In the spirit of amazement and joy of the holiday season, here are two images from the James Webb Space Telescope that embody the festive spirit. These cosmic Christmas tree clusters are around 200,000 light years from Earth.

Xreal Enter The AR Glasses Market
PRODUCT/TECHNOLOGY

This month, Xreal introduced their latest AR glasses which feature an enhanced sensory experience. These glasses stand out for their sleek, stylish design, closely resembling a pair of Ray-Bans, but with a slight protrusion from the face to accommodate the cutting-edge technology. In contrast to larger, more bulky devices like Apple's Vision Pro, Xreal’s offerings focus on blending performance with a subtle, everyday look, making them an appealing choice for consumers seeking both style and advanced AR functionality. Included in the design is advanced Sony Micro-OLED screens and an integrated Bose sound system for immersion. The market for AR glasses is heating up and I’ve covered a lot of these products this year with Xreal taking advantage of other trusted technologies from Sony and Bose being a real standout for efficacy. But as it’s all moving fast, how long will this product be ‘cutting edge’ that is the only issue with new consumer devices and technology, the rate of change is incredible, often obsoleting models a year or two old. There needs to be stewardship incorporated into these products, return and upgrade policies so devices can be recaptured and recycled.

Made primarily from plastic comprised of 50% recycled fishing nets, the bike features a fully plastic frame and fork to reduce maintenance and improve outdoor durability. Weighing just 17kg, it is built for low maintenance, utilizing lightweight, lubrication-free high-performance plastics from Igus. These materials are incorporated in key components, including ball bearings in the wheels and bearings in the brake levers and pedals, ensuring smooth, low-friction operation without the need for oil lubrication. Igus encourages reduced impact by offering a recycling program, where the bike can be returned at the end of its life to be transformed into a new model.
